Ways to boost android's battery life
Does the battery of your Android phone last more than a day? If it does, you deserve an award! Most Android users complain about poor (or absolutely terrible) battery life of their smartphones. While we agree that smartphones are battery hogs, a few small tips here and there will definitely help your phone run for a much longer time. Here are the best ways to boost your Android’s battery life.
See what's sucking the most juice:-
Navigate to Settings > About Phone > Battery Use to see an organized breakdown of what's consuming your phone's battery. Applications and features will display in a descending list of battery hogs. If you see an application you barely use or a feature you never use, uninstall the app or turn off the feature.
Set display brightness to adjust automatically:-
Turning down the brightness is obvious—you'll be surprised at how much this one helps alone. But the automatic adjustment setting is less well known. Activating it means the OS will automatically dim its display in darker environments, including seemingly well-lit indoor rooms.
Dump unnecessary home screen widgets and live wallpaper:-
The contents on your homescreen are extremely essential in deciding how long the battery will last. Kick the kitten out of your phone’s animated live wallpapers, remove the Facebook and Twitter live feed widgets. It’s important to keep the home screen clutter-free and only keep the things that are very important to you. Even if they’re Google’s live wallpapers, it’s best you keep them off your home screen. If constantly wanting to have Twitter, Facebook updates is important, keep an update time interval so polling is restricted to minimum.
Switching Off Unused Networks:-
When not in use, switch off your GPS and Bluetooth connectivity. Most people forget to turn off their Wi-Fi when they leave their homes or offices. They also forget to turn off GPS when location-based services aren’t required. We have observed in all our battery tests that Wi-Fi takes up a considerable amount of battery life, so if you’re on the move, don’t keep the Wi-Fi signal on. Your phone will constantly look for networks to connect to. Keeping a power control widget on your home screen at all times to help you quickly see the connectivity options that are required to stay on, and those that aren’t.
Some Apps which can help you :
In android market there are many apps available to solve this problem but i strongly recommends only two apps :
- Juice Defender.
- Easy Battery Saver + Task Killer.
Juice Defender is all time favorite and many people are using it. it has many battery saving mode which you can activate and see the improvement in the performance as on the other way Easy Task Killer has also modes that you can switch to and use it but along with that they provide task killer also so that you can close all unnecessary application which are running in background. but i recommend you to NOT to use and task killer apps because they them self contains lots of batter power.
