Samsung Galaxy Note 800 (Note 10.1)
Samsung has launched the Galaxy Note 10.1 in India, slightly rebadged as the Galaxy Note 800 - at a price of Rs 39,990.It packs in a 10.1-inch WXGA (1280 x 800 pixel) TFT display, 1.4 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.0(Ice Cream Sandwich). It has 5MP Auto Focus rear Camera with LED Flash and 1.9MP front camera.
It has S Pen input and apps such as S Note, S Planner, Adobe Photoshop Touch. It also includes unique features such as Smart Stay, Pop Up Play, AllShare Play and AllShare Group Cast that were present in the Galaxy S3. It also comes with My Education app for school students that offers over 10000 innovative and interactive free videos for students from class 1 to 12. This app also has assessment papers with test on real time basis, test results, admission dates directory of schools and colleges.
The new tablet comes with a multiscreen feature, with which users can run two different applications side-by-side simultaneously for easy multitasking. Users can view Web pages or videos, or launch other applications while writing or sketching ideas with the S Pen on the other half of the screen.
The 6.5mm S Pen is embedded directly in the device and, when removed, automatically launches specially-optimised apps, including S Note, S Planner, Crayon physics, Adobe Photoshop Touch, and Polaris Office. Alternatively, users can also set their preferred application to be launched instantly.
The Shape Match and Formula Match features help correct and digitise geometric shapes and solve numeric formulas hand-written with the S Pen.
Other features include Smart Stay, which tracks the user's eyes to ensure that the screen is always on while being looked at, and Pop Up Play, which allows the user to watch a video anywhere on their screen while simultaneously running other tasks.
